About ORA Gallery

I'm Marika, and I've been running ORA since 2014 — though the shop itself has been part of Sheffield's independent scene since 1990.

We're at 14 Hickmott Road, in the heart of the Sharrowvale area, and we sell jewellery, gifts, accessories, cards and homeware — all chosen because we genuinely love them. Nothing makes it onto the shelves unless it earns its place.

Over the years ORA has moved, evolved and grown, but the idea behind it has always been the same: a shop where everything is carefully chosen, where you'll always find something you didn't know you were looking for, and where coming in feels nothing like hard work.

We're a small team and we think that matters.

Kate has been here almost as long as I have. She's also a full-time teacher, and she comes in on alternate Saturdays because she loves ORA — and, we suspect, because she has a serious ROKA problem that's easier to manage when she's standing next to the display. She is very funny and our customers adore her.

Elaine joined us in autumn after a long career as a teacher. She'd been an ORA customer for years before she became part of the team, which tells you everything you need to know about why she fits in so well. She's with us on Tuesdays and we hope to see more of her soon.

Between the three of us we have strong opinions about jewellery, an encyclopaedic knowledge of which ROKA bag goes with what, and a genuine belief that finding the perfect gift should never feel stressful.
